On Saturday night, December 6th, I had the pleasure of participating in the annual gala dinner organized by ADAB, an association whose mission I deeply admire.
Each year, this event brings together committed donors to raise funds that finance student scholarships, as well as social and professional training programs that help young people find their path and build their future.
Beyond the delicious meal offered to the guests, the evening featured a series of engaging sessions around Artificial Intelligence — a theme that is becoming increasingly central to our daily lives.
I was delighted to contribute with a presentation focused on a question that concerns us all today: How can we still distinguish an AI-generated image from a real one?

Through multiple examples, I invited the audience to vote and guess which images were created by AI. The results were often surprising — a reminder of how quickly these technologies are evolving. The session also included a practical guide to help everyone better recognize AI-generated visuals in the future.
To close on a broader reflection, I proposed a modern reinterpretation of Plato’s Allegory of the Cave, updated to incorporate the new layers of complexity introduced by AI. A philosophical reminder that our perception of reality — now more than ever — deserves to be questioned, challenged, and explored.
A huge thank you to ADAB for the invitation and for their tireless work in supporting students and shaping opportunities for tomorrow. A special thank you to the the master of ceremonies, Yousra Gouja, with whom I had a pleasant collaboration.
