On march 14th 2016, Ecole Normale Supérieure confronted Université Paris Ouest Nanterre by debating the motion : “This House Believes That Words Are All We Have” which celabrates the work of Samuel Beckett on his 110th birthday.
Like every year the English Debating final took place in Hotel Lassy right next to the Assemblée Nationale. In addition, the Irish and the Mexican ambassadors were present during the debate.
As a former debater and current judge, I had the honor to attend this interesting and amusing debate. At the end of it, Université Paris Ouest Nanterre has been declared champion of the 2016 FDA tournament !
