In the scope of the cooperation between the Institut Curie and the Institut Pasteur, the associations ADIC (Association des Doctorants et des jeunes doctorants de l’Institut Curie) and StaPa (Association des Jeunes Chercheurs de l’Institut Pasteur) organized together the 1st Curie & Pasteur Joint-Retreat for Young scientists.
It took place in “Pierre et Vacances Village Club Normandy Garden” (Branville, Normandy) from the 10th to the 12th of June 2016. The goal of the retreat was to give young scientists the possibility to share their latest results, to network, to discuss science and to promote collaborations between the two institutions.
The program was rich with several interesting talks (2 keynote speakers) in various topics, teasers and posters sessions.
I myself participated with a teaser and a poster. A teaser is a presentation that takes only 2 minutes, with maximum 2 slides and with no questions from the audience. It serves to advertise the poster and get the attention of the audience usually in a funny way.
After work, conferences and posters give their place to networking around fun activities like swimming, sports, quiz and dance.

The 1st Curie & Pasteur Joint-Retreat ended with a vote and gifts for best talk and the best poster presentation.
